Banger Racing
Banger Racing is here in all sorts of forms. It's a contact sport, and there's a lot of it!
Drivers make their way, destroy their cars, and then they come out and laugh and shake hands !!!
The goal is to complete the first car to complete a certain number of laps while ensuring that other competitors do not stand a chance.
Racing takes place in different engine capacity classes, from the small metros to the mighty unlimited cars with Jaguars, Granadas and Yank tanks.
Once a year we even make caravan races !!!!
For those, we have a rookie banger class that features less modified cars and "limited contact" racing for the beginner.
While the vehicles are usually destined for the junkyard, the drivers put a lot of work into the preparation of their cars and prizes are awarded not only to the winners, but also to the best-presented and rarest vehicles.
Bangers are full contact road vehicles with minimal armor. All glass panels and internals are removed, the radiator is usually replaced by a collecting tank, a roll cage, an internal fuel tank, lines and battery replaced. Certain panels are also modified or bolted / welded for safety, though car armoring is strictly regulated.
The day usually ends with a Demolition Derby, which is not about spinning laps, but just smashing and destroying and finally immobilizing the opposition until there is only one vehicle left to conquer.
